- Spring Sports Physicals

Physical forms must be completed, signed and returned to the
nurses office by February 15. These forms are for physicals to
be done by our school physician.
- Re-certifications must be done by
February 12. Please see the nurse for further information.
- Physician forms
completed by private physicians must be returned to the nurse by
February 24.

- Kindergarten
Pre-registration Announced
-
Pre-registration
is being held for students who will enter kindergarten for the
2012-2013 school year in the Wyoming Area School District.
- Parents
of students who are pre-registered will be invited to parent
workshops and receive kindergarten readiness information to
assist their children in preparation for kindergarten.
- The
pre-registration information will also allow the district to
provide registration information prior to the official
registration in the spring.
- Parents
are asked to complete the form
found here or pick up the form at the Secondary Center, 20 Memorial Street,
Exeter. You may mail it back to the noted address or email it
back to at Jean Marie Radle at jradle@wyomingarea.org.

- The scholarship
website has been updated and there are 8-new scholarships
available this year coupling with a total of 15-new ones since
we first began the scholarship website over the last
three-years..
- Just click on the
"Guidance
Department Scholarships" link in the left hand column
of this homepage. There you will see all the new and existing
scholarships along with the application available at this site.

- Senior Parents' News
Graduation season is
quickly approaching. Each year the Wyoming Area Senior Parents'
Assoc works diligently throughout the school year planning
fundraisers, Donkey Basketball games and other memorable events
for the Senior Class.
We are currently planning our senior's ANNUAL ALL
NIGHT PARTY!!!
We are asking Senior Parents to show their support
for the "Class of 2012" by making a monetary donation in
the amount of $10.00 to the Wyoming Area Senior Class. We would
greatly appreciate your generosity and thank you for your
support.
- You may make checks
payable to "Wyoming Area Senior Class." Please have your
child deliver payment to his/her Homeroom Representative as soon
as possible.

- 2012 Yearbook
is on Sale Now
- The 2012 Warrior
Yearbook is on sale now for $125.00. Advertising forms will be
available next week. Any amount sold in the fundraiser is added to
any advertising sold for discounted yearbooks. For example: sold
$95.00 in fundraiser and $85.00 quarter page ad = $180.00.
Yearbook final cost - $25.00.

- UFCW Federal Credit
Union is in its second year with its Warriors Student Run Branch
and UFCW officials would like to inform parents/guardians of their
hours of operation in the school. They are on Thursdays from 10:30
a.m. to 1:00 p.m. in the Secondary Center Cafeteria.

Mission
Statement
The mission of the
Wyoming Area School District is to provide educational programs
and services which meet the needs of all the youth of the
district.
These programs and
services shall be equitable and accessible so that all students
may grow to their full potential and become responsible citizens.
In this mission, we
shall forge new partnerships with parents, community, groups,
businesses, industries, and higher education, so as to enhance the
quality of life for students and members of the community.
Wyoming Area is
ranked
one of the top 47 school districts in PA.

WYOMING AREA
FACTS
Wyoming Area School
District is located in northeastern Pennsylvania, midway between
Wilkes-Barre and Scranton, along the Susquehanna River.
The District is composed
of six municipalities; West Pittston, Exeter, Wyoming, West Wyoming,
Harding, and Falls, covering approximately 26 square miles.
Four neighborhood
elementary schools house students from grades K-6 and range in size from
215 to 460 students. They are: Tenth Street, JFK, Montgomery Avenue, and
Sarah J. Dymond.
The Secondary Center is
located in Exeter, currently houses 1193 students from grades 7-12. The
total District enrollment is 2533.
The District has soccer,
baseball, and field hockey facilities, tennis courts, and a lighted
synthetic track, that is open to the public until 10 p.m., located at
the football stadium in West Pittston.
The District is 15 minutes
away from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton International Airport, Minor League
Baseball, Hockey, and Arena venues, as well as, ski slopes, concert
facilities, and plenty of shopping malls.
